Top performance requires mental training…

Ask any coach what distinguishes a good athlete from a great one and they’ll tell you that great athletes are both physically and mentally trained.
In fact, mental training or the mind games we play with ourselves is one of the most overlooked aspects of a well-rounded training program.
We give the topic a lot of lip service but rarely do we actively engage in training to make us mentally stronger.

My third tip for successful triathlon training is to…

This is the third tip in my series “6 Easy Tips for a Successful Triathlon Training Year” which is also available in a FREE eBook at www.GearedUp.biz/ebooks/.
…set a baseline.
Performance testing will help assess your current fitness and natural abilities in terms of:
- muscular strength,
- endurance, and
- speed.
Without an accurate fitness assessment, you will never know if performance is improving, staying the same or declining.
As the saying goes – you can’t change what you don’t measure!
