prevention is the key.

This is also true for overtraining and exercise burnout.

If you are looking for a training schedule that incorporates rest into it then you might want to check out a training schedule design called “periodization.”

It alternates high intensity workload with alternating low intensity endurance work.

It is a preferred method among many professional athletes.

If you are feeling some of the signs of overtraining, you should immediately reduce the intensity of your workout.

If you are not building rest into your workout program on a weekly, monthly and yearly basis, then it is likely incorporating overtraining.

Don’t forget the simple addage “when in doubt, leave it out,” rest has never hurt anyone before.

If you’re worried about overtraining and would like the opinion of an experienced coach or help with your training in any way, as always, please feel free to contact me, visit my web site at www.GearedUp.Biz, or give me a call at (239) 246-2920.

Enjoy,
