When swimming in open water remember: SAFETY FIRST.
There are a few things that you can do to help you stay safe in open water.
- Be sure to swim with an experienced partner or group
- Be cautious of water conditions
- Don’t stray too far from the shoreline
- Make sure you consider
- Tides
- Currents
- Sea life
- Water salinity
With these simple things taken into account, you can have a safe and successful open water swimming session and you’ll definitely be ready for any triathlon that comes your way!
